What's new in Ensobre

Ensobre checks for a new version every time you open the app (turn it off in Settings if you'd rather check by hand) and shows a one-click button to install it. Updates are signed: the app rejects any package we didn't sign ourselves.

  • New Ensobre logo.
  • Your license works on up to 5 computers in your household. When you paste your key, Ensobre connects just once to activate that computer; after that it works offline as always. Reinstalling on the same computer doesn't use up a slot.
  • New "Deactivate this computer" button in Settings → License, to move your license to another one.
  • Small animations: a coin drops when you fill an envelope, "Ready to assign" counts up or down, and charts grow when they open. They turn off if your system asks for reduced motion.
  • The update banner has a "What's new" button that brings you to this page.
  • Quick add: you can no longer save the same transaction twice by clicking fast.

  • Import Excel files (.xlsx, .xls, .ods) from your bank, including dates like "05/JAN/2026".
  • Export your whole budget as a plain SQLite file.
  • Reports: a new "If your income stopped today" card, showing how many days of cushion you have.
  • Reports: for foreign-currency accounts, see how much you gained or lost from the exchange rate.
  • Reports: charts now show guide lines with their values.
  • Opening another budget while Ensobre is already open reuses the same window instead of opening a second copy.

  • A batch of bug fixes found in review: amounts with 3 decimals, European QIF files, transactions wrongly flagged as duplicates, transfers with a zero-amount leg, closing the app with unsaved changes, double-submitting forms, focus and the Escape key in dialogs, plurals in the UI text, and engine error messages now translated.
  • The 30-day free trial no longer resets if you uninstall and reinstall the app.
