Your data and files (16)

  1. Recovering a damaged file can no longer delete the only good copy.
  2. If your budget won't open, Ensobre opens the last good copy, tells you, and keeps the damaged file aside.
  3. A damaged password-protected budget is recovered from its copy instead of saying "wrong password".
  4. The daily backup is saved whole or not at all: never half-written.
  5. If the daily backup fails, you see it in Settings → Security.
  6. It warns you if it can't delete old backups, so the folder doesn't grow unchecked.
  7. "Export copy" no longer lets you save over the budget you have open.
  8. To tell whether Dropbox or OneDrive changed your file, it now compares the content, not just size and date.
  9. "Use the one on disk" asks before discarding your changes.
  10. "Use the one on disk" checks that copy is healthy before replacing what you have open.
  11. The "file open in another window" check is more reliable, and its helper file is now hidden.
  12. Opening a file no longer marks it as changed for no reason.
  13. Undo no longer stores empty steps: Ctrl+Z always undoes something.
  14. The copies kept for undo are wiped from memory when released.
  15. A damaged settings file no longer erases your license: it's kept aside.
  16. It tells you if the app's settings couldn't be saved.

Importing bank transactions (14)

  1. If your starting balance already included what you import, Ensobre spots it and offers to adjust it so nothing is counted twice.
  2. Undoing an import restores the starting balance, in any order.
  3. …and its original date too.
  4. In foreign-currency accounts, that adjustment doesn't change the starting balance's rate.
  5. You can mark a row as a transfer between your accounts (for example, savings to checking).
  6. When you later import the other account, the existing transfer is flagged.
  7. That match is flagged but not unchecked automatically: you decide.
  8. Repeated rows within the same file are flagged.
  9. A "0.00" in the debit or credit column no longer turns a deposit into $0.
  10. An OFX file with several accounts or currencies no longer mixes them: it asks for one file per account.
  11. The projected balance is recalculated from the rows you leave checked.
  12. Undoing an import also deletes the other half of a transfer.
  13. Huge or deliberately malformed files can no longer freeze the app.
  14. When bringing your budget from YNAB, it explains how currencies are handled.

Credit cards (9)

  1. Every card gets its payment envelope from day one, even starting at $0.
  2. "Ready to pay" no longer counts purchases from envelopes that had no money.
  3. The card's panel explains how "Ready to pay" is worked out.
  4. An open card's envelope can no longer be deleted by mistake.
  5. Expenses can no longer go into a card's payment envelope…
  6. …nor through rules or automatic suggestions.
  7. A card that still owes money can't be closed (there'd be no way to pay it).
  8. "Spent" no longer counts the card's previous debt as this month's spending.
  9. "Available in envelopes" no longer shows red because of that old debt.

Multiple currencies (6)

  1. The main currency is guessed better based on where you are.
  2. Currency names appear in your language.
  3. Editing a cross-currency transfer keeps what actually arrived.
  4. A transaction dated before your first rate asks for that day's rate.
  5. Changing a transfer's destination clears the "Received" amount from the other currency.
  6. If the online rates service fails, it now says so clearly.

Transfers and reconciliation (6)

  1. Editing only a transfer's memo keeps the other side reconciled.
  2. If you change the amount or date, the other side is no longer reconciled.
  3. It warns you if either side was already reconciled.
  4. It also warns when changing the destination or turning it into a non-transfer.
  5. "Transfer" is disabled if you only have one account.
  6. Saving requires a destination different from the source account.

Scheduled payments (11)

  1. A payment on the 31st goes back to the 31st even if you edit it in a short month.
  2. Overdue payments can be entered with today's date.
  3. Closing an account removes its scheduled payments and tells you.
  4. Deleting an account tells you how many scheduled payments go with it.
  5. Scheduled payments are no longer entered into closed accounts.
  6. When merging two envelopes, scheduled payments move to the new one.
  7. A scheduled cross-currency transfer keeps what actually arrived the first time.
  8. It explains how the received amount is worked out on each repeat.
  9. The "schedule deleted" message only shows if it really was deleted.
  10. A scheduled transfer with no destination can no longer be saved.
  11. If upcoming payments fail to load, it tells you instead of showing an empty list.

Budget, goals and rules (13)

  1. A dated goal no longer says "On track" if you spent the month's savings.
  2. Goals now have a sensible maximum amount.
  3. "Cover overspending" explains what happened to last month's overspending.
  4. "Days of runway" were one day short.
  5. If the app stays open when the month or year changes, it moves to the new month.
  6. Rules no longer offer "Income", which did nothing.
  7. Old rules and suggestions can no longer use a card's envelope.
  8. Recurring charges are detected better: the most recent pattern wins.
  9. Changing the envelope of several transactions no longer teaches the app wrong from a transfer.
  10. When deleting several transactions, the message counts them correctly.
  11. Search ignores accents: "cafe" finds "Café".
  12. If an envelope's transactions fail to load, it tells you instead of saying "no transactions".
  13. An amount in Reports' "Spending by envelope" no longer overflows its box.

Welcome screen (6)

  1. It no longer loses the account you typed if you go straight to "Continue".
  2. You can remove an account added by mistake.
  3. If your Documents folder won't let it save, it offers another folder.
  4. "Give all your money a job", whatever your currency.
  5. Screen readers better understand which step you're on and which option is selected.
  6. The button that closes notifications now has a name for screen readers.

License and updates (10)

  1. "License not activated" is no longer confused with "trial ended".
  2. Activating your license warns you if it couldn't be saved, instead of failing on restart.
  3. Deactivating this computer now confirms it worked.
  4. If you request a refund, that license is deactivated.
  5. The app only talks to the official license server.
  6. Safer updates.
  7. Updating is no longer blocked in read-only mode.
  8. An update download shows progress even when its size is unknown.
  9. Double-clicking a budget while Ensobre is starting no longer gets lost.
  10. Ensobre's file type shows in both languages on Windows and Mac.

English wording (15)

  1. "Quick assign" instead of "Quick budget".
  2. "No envelope" instead of "Without envelope", everywhere.
  3. "{n} with no envelope" in the account list.
  4. "Add expense", matching the Spanish.
  5. "Ready for card payment" on the card panel.
  6. "days of runway" in Reports.
  7. "Payee or description" in scheduled payments.
  8. CFDI invoices: "to the vendor who billed you".
  9. Main currency: "Your budget uses this currency".
  10. "without letting Ready to assign go negative", on two screens.
  11. "this computer isn't authorized yet" in License.
  12. "Go back to the start screen" in Security.
  13. Clearer sentences about cards and YNAB.
  14. Capitalized month: "Your September budget is ready".
  15. Error messages without links to Spanish-only pages.

Website and guides (7)

  1. We fixed website text that didn't match what the app does (refunds, banks, file format, opening it on several computers, and the comparison).
  2. The guides now correctly say Ensobre does read CFDI XML invoices.
  3. The couples guide correctly explains opening the budget on two computers.
  4. The dollars guide correctly explains which rate each transaction uses.
  5. The privacy policy details the optional waitlist comment and how activation retries.
  6. The website's videos have a pause button.
  7. "Clean up your bank statement" no longer loses the file if you pick it while loading.
